Alice C. Erwin
Alice Erwin was born in 1880. A conservation leader, Alice published a book titled Nature Talks, based on her newspaper column. She lived at her home “Four Acres” in Harbor Springs, Michigan. Alice attended statewide conservation meetings. She fought to retain park lands at Wilderness State Park in northern Emmet County. The inscription on her headstone reads “Friend of all Living Things”. She was active in the Emmet County Suffrage Association.
She died in 1938.
