Amelia Kaden

Amelia Martin Kaden is the real name of “Little Mossback Amelia”, the pioneer girl who traveled by train with her family from Ohio to Bear Creek (Petoskey) in the 1880s, then walked to their homestead in Chandler Township. Amelia lived a frontier life as illustrated in the story, Little Mossback Amelia. She later earned a teaching certificate and attended the University of Michigan, becoming a biology teacher in Advance and Boyne City.
