The boulder marking the Native American trail was dedicated July 4, 1916. It was placed in Arlington Park by the Daughters of the American Revolution. The inscription on the bronze plaque reads:
This boulder marks the old Indian Trail between Mackinaw City and Grand Rapids used from time immemorial by the Huron, Ottawa, Chippewa and other tribes. Erected by Pe-to-se-ga Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution 1915.
