Meyer Hardware |
421 East Mitchell |
The current Meyer Hardware on Mitchell Street in Petoskey was once the Cushman Hotel, built in 1875. The brick annex was added in 1900 and was used as the post office. The building was also used to house the influenza pandemic patients in 1918. The Cushman Hotel burned down in 1928. It was purchased by Herman Meyer, who opened Meyer Hardware in 1935. It is the third oldest family owned and operated business in Petoskey.
