Myron Graves, M.A., opened the Petoskey Normal School and Business College in 1888. The college had at least three Mitchell Street addresses. Later, the college moved to the Guleserian Block at 307-309 E. Lake Street. This accommodation had room for 300 people. The college was truly an institution of higher learning.
The college name painted on the second story wall of the G&A Building on Lake Street is still visible.
